Now that you know Alexa is the main character in a novel, you might be wondering what the novel is all about. It’s a story about vampires, modern society, prejudice and acceptance, but above all relationships with those around us – who they come to be, how they evolve and how they’re sometimes lost.

Vampires have been a part of our culture for thousands of years. There are so many books build on existing or pretend legend, but all have a common core – the supernatural abilities, the undead status, translated as a different state of being than the normal, human one, and the blood – its ability to nurture these unique, frightening and extremely powerful beings.

I am not planning to reinvent the wheel or better yet, not entirely, I will just add some enhancements and fine-tune it to give it the speed and direction I am looking for. Expect extensive plunges into vampire lore, an organizational description and day to day activities to help build a stage to support individual acts.

Alina Popescu has been writing essays, short stories and novels for most of her life. She went on to study journalism and is not a public relations and marketing professional. Writing has been a powerful part of her life, but novels have been something she always wanted to try. She started dozens, completed one just before turning 18, but sometimes managed to outgrow it and leave it behind. She did get some official recognition in a high-school writing competition, but the ones whose opinion most mattered to her were her family and friends.

As they kept encouraging her to keep writing, she decided she will try again and tell the world the wonderful stories she sees.
