My friend Oana showed me a note I had written to her over 4 years ago. It’s written on a page torn from my notebook. And here’s what it says:
“When the talk is good and the feeling is easy and the laughter is light and the memories are many but the time is short, then you know you’re with a friend.”
Still true!
Alina Popescu has been writing essays, short stories and novels for most of her life. She went on to study journalism and is not a public relations and marketing professional. Writing has been a powerful part of her life, but novels have been something she always wanted to try. She started dozens, completed one just before turning 18, but sometimes managed to outgrow it and leave it behind. She did get some official recognition in a high-school writing competition, but the ones whose opinion most mattered to her were her family and friends.
As they kept encouraging her to keep writing, she decided she will try again and tell the world the wonderful stories she sees.
